6th-9th August 2026
Mumbai
There are moments in I.I.M.U.N. that make us pause and look at how far we have come. The 15th I.I.M.U.N. Championship Conference was one of them.
From 6th to 9th August 2026, over 2,100 students from 108 cities across India and 7 countries congregated in Mumbai for four days of learning, debates, dialogues and experiences that marked fifteen years of I.I.M.U.N.
The inaugural ceremony took place on 6th August at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, with the Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Shri Mohan Bhagwat Ji, as the Chief Guest. The inaugural ceremony also featured performances by the Shiamak Davar troupe, along with Ajay and Nadir Sir.
The Championship then moved to the Jio World Convention Centre, where, at the heart of the Championship, were the students, who participated in committees spanning contemporary, historical, national and global issues. Discussions ranged from the regulation of Artificial Intelligence in governance and law enforcement and reforms of the United Nations to the debt crisis in the Global South, India's energy security and the escalation of proxy wars in the Middle East, whilst also giving some delegates the opportunity to step into the world of the Mahabharata and revisit the Kurukshetra War.
Alongside the student conference, the Educators Summit brought together 200+ school owners, principals and directors from across India, with an extraordinary gathering of luminaries and dignitaries including Dr. Shashi Tharoor, General V.P. Malik, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Air Chief Marshal P.V. Naik, Jayant Sinha, Naina Lal Kidwai, Saina Nehwal, Dr. Jamshed Bharucha, Rajdeep Sardesai, Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat, Amit Lath, Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, Amish Tripathi and Dr. Shri Ram Nene, among several others.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Board of Advisors (BoA), Academic Advisory Council (AAC) and the International Advisory Board (IAB) held their meetings, alongside the I.I.M.U.N. Alumni Meet, bringing together members of the wider I.I.M.U.N. community.
Fifteen years ago, what began with a belief in the potential of young people has today become a movement reaching 275 cities in India and 40 countries. The scale has grown, but the belief remains the same: young people should have the opportunity to speak, question, listen, disagree respectfully and think independently.
The 15th I.I.M.U.N. Championship Conference concluded on 9th August with a Closing Ceremony graced by the Hon'ble Governor of Maharashtra, bringing four days of learning, dialogue and exchange to a close.
Fifteen years of youth empowering the youth, fifteen years of dialogue, fifteen years of a movement that has transcended borders, and what better way to celebrate #15yearsofIIMUN.
India at heart, International in our mindset.
